Rules - Terms and Conditions of the Awards
To be eligible to be considered
for the award you must:
- Be aged over 18 on 31st May 2010
(If the business is a partnership, all partners must be aged over 18)
- Reside in Northern Ireland
- Not have started the business idea
- Accept that the judges' decision is final
- Submit a completed entry form to the judging panel no later than the closing date of 31st August 2010
All shortlisted applicants will be asked to:
- Take part in a phone interview discussing their application in more detail
- Agree to have their business idea details posted on this website, printed in the Alpha Newspaper Group titles and be used by the awards organisers for publicity reasons only
- Provide a 30 second sound bite explaining their idea for broadcasting on radio for listeners to vote on
- Go on stage at the Gala Final in the Burnavon Theatre, Cookstown in December and answer questions by the panel.
All winners of funding awards will be required to:
- Provide proof of age (copy of driving licence, birth certificate, passport etc)
- Submit information after 6 and 12 months to the organisers on their progress in developing their idea, how the money has been used and the impact of the expenditure
General:
- The promoters are Country Stoves Ltd., Alpha Newspaper Group Ltd., Northern Media Radio Stations and SmartBoss.co.uk
- The promoters' liability under or in connection with the terms and conditions shall be limited to the value of the prize.
- The promoters shall not be liable for any losses, taxes, liabilities or inconvenience suffered by any entrant as a result of these terms and conditions or entering the competition except that the promoter does not exclude or limit its liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law or regulation.
- The promoters shall not be liable under or in connection with these terms and conditions for any indirect, special or consequential cost, expense, loss or damage even if such cost, expense, loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable or might reasonably have been contemplated by the entrant and the promoter and whether arising from breach of contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise.
- The promoters do not accept responsibility for (1) lost, late or undelivered entries or (2) any technical or access issue, failure, malfunction or difficulty that might hinder entry to the competition or (3) any event which may cause the prize draw to be disrupted or corrupted.
- The winners' names may be posted on the promoters' websites for [90] days following the announcement of winners.
These terms and conditions are governed by Northern Irish law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Northern Irish courts
